Come see our Student Directed One Act Shows! This year we have FOUR chances to see our amazing actors and directors do their thing!
The Winter Scenes at Metea Valley High School were started as a way for students to experience firsthand the challenges and rewards of directing and producing small scenes or one-act plays, as well as the skill of producing a show in an intimate setting, all while working with small groups of like-minded and driven individuals.
This year's Winter Scenes:
The Boy and His Poems (written and directed by Aditi Puntambekar and Alli Jacobson) - A new kid in school seems to have the gift of poetry. He creates verse on the spot, and melts hearts with his prose. But, who is he, and where did he come from?
Slam Sensation (written and directed by Nevaeh Maxey and Ciniyah Young) - A panel of slam poetry contestants vie for the grand prize, $10,000! This play dives in to the rhyme and reason behind each contestant and their motivation.
The New Margo (written by Stephen Gregg and directed by Loren Jones) - It's only four days until classes of their freshman year begin, and Margo didn't come back to the dorm last night. When she does arrive, she seems like a whole new person. In fact, she very well maybe a different person….
