What is Speech Team?

The Speech Team is an official IHSA-sanctioned competition that allows members to focus and improve on different styles of public speaking. With 14 different categories, performances can range from traditional informational presentations to dramatic monologue to rehearsed, humorous skits with a partner. No matter what branch of the Speech Team you’re a part of, you will get constructive feedback from experienced members or captains and award-winning coaches.
